VILLA PANDOLFINI ESTATE

Villa Pandolfini Estate

The Academy is located at the Villa Pandolfini, built in the 1200s by the Medici family as a hunting lodge and sold to the Pandolfini family in the 1300s.

The property includes a number of other structures from the time, such as the stunning tower also used by the Villa Pandolfinischool. Villa Pandolfini is known as being the place where Agnolo di Filippo, a dear friend of the Medici, wrote his Treatise on the governing of the family. He later died there in 1446 at the age of 86, his body being buried in the church of San Martino in Gangalandi.

In 1434, the grandson of the family decided to restore the property to its present glory, with architect Bendedetto Rovezzano being commissioned to do so.

Estate comprises of a private forest, vineyards and olive groves. Magnificent spacious 180 sq. mt. apartment just 10 mins from Florence center. Antiques, frescoes, beautiful loggia looking onto a breathtaking renaissance garden. Outdoor dining, walks, very quiet and private. This is the perfect place to discover Florence and enjoy the real Tuscan Villa Pandolfini country living in an elegant castle that has accommodated guests such as Napoleon Bonaparte and King Charles VIII of France. Famous architecture design.

This is an incredible vacation experience. The property has been totally restored 5 years ago. From the living room of the main apartments 2 sets of double doors open onto the loggia and the Italian style gardens with lemon trees, hedges and fountain. The property is sunny, very peaceful and private. It has 10m high ceilings with breathtaking frescoes, gold gilded mirrors, terracotta floors. The villa’s foundations date back to the 1200s; the property produces fantastic extra virgin olive oil and wine. Each room is a pleasure in itself: the main bedroom opens onto the front terrace with views of hills and Florence. The kitchen has a vaulted ceiling and fireplace with a dining table seating 6. This is a wonderful location only 12 mins from Florence. The owners speak English, French, German and Italian.

Wonderful dining experiences at the many local restaurants, some noted as being the best in Italy. Relax at the villa and enjoy its grounds, wine and forest or discover the many local attractions such as horse riding, trekking, antique markets, Caruso’s villa and gardens, medieval villages and Etruscan ruins. Stations, bus stops and shops within walking distance and close to all major highways.

20 mins to Montecatini. 40 mins to Pisa / Lucca / Siena/ Bologna. 60 mins to Forte Dei Marmi/ Volterra/ San Gimignano/ Arezzo etc.

Staying at the Villa was a wonderful experience. We stayed in August with two young boys. The rooms are huge and the space has been looked after really well. There were hairdryers in every bath room and lots of fresh towels and the whole place was nice and cool in the hot summer. We loved sitting out in the loggia in the afternoons evenings although in peak summer there are a lot of Mosquitos. However this was a small problem considering we were literally on the door step of Florence and were able to visit Florence, Siena, Chianti and Fiesole from here. The pool was a little walk from the villa but really beautifully surrounded by olive trees and it was so quiet and tranquil. The bedrooms and beds are huge and the regal drive up to the villa through the poplar trees makes you feel like royalty. I really loved staying here and so did our little boys.

Amazing historical place as on the pictures. Lot of space, very friendly and good organized hosts. Our place was good equipt in kitchen, rooms or bath. Getting to Florence is even possible from this place by bus or train. Next big Supermarkt is a bit away. A small local grocery shop was close. A perfect stay for family.
